Marcal follows his ‘Only Forward EP’ on Hardgroove with the’ Feathers and Bones’ EP on sister-label Symbolism.

Characterised by heavily swung rhythms and dense, shifting melodies, the ‘Feathers and Bones’ EP is yet another collection of deftly crafted works from Marcal, a leading proponent of the new wave of Brazilian techno artists.

Bookended by the intense heft of ‘16S49W’ and ‘The Spoonbender’ and their springing, elastic leads, ‘Feathers and Bones’ is dripping in mechanical funk and character. Sitting in the middle of the EP, ‘ABL1’ adds subtle hypnotic tones into the mix while the title track goes all in on the heady, late-night-lose-yourself vibe with remarkable precision.

Having dropped releases for Rekids’ RSPX, Token and Enemy whilst seeing support from Ben UFO, DJ Bone, Luke Slater, Volvox, NonCompliant and many more, Marcal’s five years of releases have already marked him as a talent of note.
